10+ Twitter Apps for Windows

Get a great overview of Twitter applications for Windows in this article.

I don’t use Twitter. There. It’s out in the open, now you know. :) It isn't that I dislike Twitter, no, it’s because I haven’t looked at it enough to find a use for it. That doesn’t mean I don’t keep an eye on applications for Twitter – I do. Up until now I haven’t seen a comprehensive list of Twitter apps with overviews and a comparison chart. This article has all that plus a few more things, such as a list of sites that let you share Twitter files, photos and documents.
The requirements for the various Twitter applications vary. Some are native Windows clients, and some require Adobe Air or .NET to function. Of the ones that require Adobe Air, some also run on Mac or Linux. Others work with services such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Friendfeed and MySpace. If your current Twitter app is falling short of expectations or you want to see what else is out there, this is a good place to start.

Just spent the best part of the day trying out Tweetdeck. It's gone straight in the bin. Before realizing the latest version had been scuppered by Twitter I'd been trying to work out why none of the online help screen captures looked like the program I had. No column filters & no right click for copy-paste. Rubbish.

David;
I understand what you mean.
Facebook bought drop.io a few years ago and I still miss it.

The one application not listed in the article above is Yoono, which works pretty much like the old Tweet Deck (before Twitter ruined it) and does everything I want, including Facebook and LinkedIn support: http://www.yoono.com/
