This category is reserved for finds by our Editor Rhiannon. Items should consist of at least two paragraphs. The first should be a "teaser" paragraph. This paragraph will be automatically published in our RSS feed. It should state the nature of the find and the benefits without mentioning the product name or providing a product link. For example: "For months I've been looking for a good way of deleting 'undeletable' files. Finally I've discovered a free utility that does the job reliably and simply." The second paragraph should at the very least, expand the benefits, name the product and provide a product link. For example: "Unlocker is a tiny 230 KB utility that works with Windows 2000 up to Windows 10. Just right click on the 'undeletable file', select 'Delete with Unlocker' from the context menu and next time you boot the file will be gone for good." You can have a third paragraph if you wish; indeed as many as you like. However there must at least be a second paragraph after the opening "teaser" paragraph.

These icons are great for customizing computers and use in design or other projects (though as always, check the copyright and licensing for public usage).

Editor Update: there are now 293,130 icons / 1,487 iconsets at the Icon Archive.
The preview for new iconsets is easy to use and shows a few icons from the set so you don't have to view the whole iconset.

Icons are categorized by topic, from animals to vintage, making it easy to find something specific.

Difficult as in it takes quite a bit of time, knowledge, and often some messing about in the registry to get rid of all the items left behind.

It's such a difficult task that several of the well-known anti-virus vendors have created tools that are specially crafted to remove their programs from computers.

Bring your desktop background to life with this free utility.

DreamScene is a program originally released as part of the Vista Ultimate Extras Pack that animates your desktop background. It was never released for Windows 7 but thanks to  a new free application you can have it in Windows 7 both 32 bit and 64 bit.
