Limits time playing installed game software (and also online browsing)

I'm looking for a non-subscription freeware (preferably) utility which will restrict the time spent by my kids addictively playing games (or other chosen software titles). Apparently Windows Vista already comes with such parental control features, but I'd like to get something similar running on my Windows XP Home and MCE systems.

Hi all,

Do you know of good quality freeware programs to turn photos (mostly portrait and landscape) into black and white pencil drawings?

I have found a few, but with relatively poor results.

Thanx,

Electronic Flashcards

Anyone know of a program to create flashcards?

Something like MyMentor but an installable or portable application rather than web-based. It would be great if it also supported printing physical cards.

CD/DVD burner speed

Does anybody know the best CD burner program out there with which you can control the burn speed?

I have fairly recent CD/DVD R/WR burner that spins so fast when it burns, I think some of the tracks are not easy to read. I get read errors. It can't find some of the files. I think a slower burn speed would fix the problem.

When I look at the CD tracks, they don't look as visible as they did on my old burner, which was a quite a bit slower burner. Would that make a difference? Comments please.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. - Dz

Virtual image wall/scrapbook/moodboard/whatever...

I'm an illustrator and as such I make great use of images and photographs for inspiration and reference, and I would absolutely love a simple, light application which would allow me to drag-and-drop images and add annotation in order to create a sort of digital moodboard to have up while i'm working. Though Picasa and DigiBook both have functions similar, neither are really suited; Picasa is heavy (80-100% cpu!?) and does not allow simple annotation in the scrapbook view, and DigiBook's "Karuta view" doesn't allow annotation or resizing of the images.

Wii Game Disk Backup

As Wii Games are not cheap it would be nice to duplicate an original wii disc and use the duplicate in the machine, thus keeping the original scratch free. I did internet search and found various modchips etc, but I would just like to make a duplicate of the disk. Can this be done or is the answer too-bad unless you want to turn into a major game hacker.

thanks

Web site builder

I am looking for a program that allows an average PC user to build a fairly simple web site with menus and different pages.

Preferably tools that do not require HTML knowledge,

preferably not tying the web site to a given hosting service and

preferably not tying the web site to Windows based hosting.

Am I asking too much? Hopefully not.

TIA and Happy New Year
