Anti spyware and Anti trojan combined

Hi

I was thinking that the best free antispyware and antirojan categories should really be combined to anti malware or something. Nowadays, as Gizmo has said, antispyware also detects trojans and antitrojans also tetect spyware, so I think it should be one category.

I think it's a more subtle problem.
We shouldn't worry so much about categorisation; what we need to concentrate on is making it easy for our visitors to find the information they are looking for.
Suggesting and persuading them to use "Search" would be a good start. Perhaps someone (if only we could find him) should write some "User Help" about Advanced Search.
I also think we shouldn't fall into the "naming things" trap. It's not up to us to dictate the language our visitors use (and for some English isn't necessarily the first choice). Pendrive/Memory STick/USB/Stick/External RAM/RAMStick ......... you tell me what it's called? The important thing is some kind of Keyword indexing (automatic) that uses all the terms and links them. (Next version .... natch)
Of course one day we'll have a glossary, which offers a more enticing means of helping to ensure consistency.
In many ways it's better to have lots of smallish topics, rather than a few big ones. In fact, the model we are evolving towards seems to be lots of short to long Topics, underpinned by some longish "Review Articles". Sounds good to me.

Hi

I believe this isn't just about naming - Steve from BS Spyware tested A-squared and it got a very disappointing result. So it's very confusing - on one page it is not recommended and on another page it claims it's the best when both pages are talking about one thing - signature anti-malware.

And personally, I think that SAS and MBAM are excellent at detecting malware and could probably replace dedicated anti-trojans anyway.

I think it would be nice to have a Top Freeware Picks link like the one at MajorGeeks.com (but more in line with the top articles here). I use that the most at that site, as well as the top downloads at FileHippo and MajorGeeks. I mostly use the Most Popular Articles to find stuff here, and the search bar a couple times.

Avast! 4.8 Home edition is Anti-virus - Anti-spyware - anti-trojan - anti-worm and anti-rootkit
