SlideShow Maker wanted
I've been hunting the web this afternoon for a good free program that turns pics, eg jpgs, into a slide show.
And is able to synchronize an mp3 in the process.
And produces, ideally, a small exe that runs in Windows without having to download dependency files.
And is not overly huge.
And doesn't have 'strings' that, in my view, make it not free (regardless of it costing no money).
And if not an exe as the end result then something like a file that can be uploaded to eg, YouTube.
...and I didn't find anything that I felt I could trust enough to download.
....so I thought I ask.
If anyone here has a personal recommendation because they use such a program then that's my ideal answer.

You might want to try "Photo Story 3 for Windows". It's a freebee from, I hate to say it, Microsoft. Here's the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/d...
It allows up to 300 pictures to used to make a slide show c/w music and audible captions. The files are saved in "wmv" format.

Have you tried Picassa?
irfanview is great for offline slideshows, but I need something that will convert the slideshows into uploadable videos on youtube.
I've been looking for similar software. But I have a new twist. I need for it to have narration capabilities. I'd like to make a slideshow and record a brief verbal description for EACH slide. Any software, free or not(!) that does that? I've been forced to use Powerpoint.

I use Irfanview, you can set speed, screen resolution etc... and the end result is an .exe or .txt file. (freeware)
I did a quick search for you on Snapfiles, its a site I trust. Have a look anyway. I have had a dabble with making slide shows, but not to the extent that i have gotten to know what is the best around. I usually use Xnview slideshow for viewing my images or Picasa, but thats to sort out the bad ones and delete them. So have a look at what is on offer and let us know what your findings are. Maybe someone else has there finger on that pulse?

Hope it helps. As I said, its a site I trust and as yet not let me down. The other site to look at is Photo-Freeware - http://www.photo-freeware.net/ They have many programs on there website that will do the job as well. Although am not sure which would have adware, that you will again have to search out. If any come to mind or I have tried and forgotten will post here.
