Acronis True Image (Free Version with PcPro) - How to Download link

Hi Gizmo and everyone, We talk months back and good to see your site running. No complaints.

Enviro: HP with Vista Premium and Firefox 2.0.0.12

Saw item 95, Drive Imaging, in Techsupportalert and it mentions freeware cannot be compared to the commercial. It also recommended Norton Ghost in that article while highly not recommended in newsletter article. If I had read last article, I would not have purchase Norton Ghost. With that last article, I refuse to install and have no drive imaging.

I sent Chris who maintains that topic about item 95 with Norton Ghost image recommendation and newsletter contradiction. He was sympathetic, mentions this 46best site, and Techsupportalert should have a link to 46best for the Tech...alert site is difficult to maintain. He mentions Acronis free version and that is why I am writing.

I fill PcPro registration form, receive email with free serial number immediately, and it mentions link for update version (paid). Mention to Chris and he says to read the footer, use firefox, and a forum to post. I also mention I am seeing Ver 11 and he mentions not to download that one.

I cannot find the link to download the free version even thou I receive the serial number. Even thou I mention from Cda, I receive the free serial number. I read the footer, one commented that he uses opera and had no problem for he see the link. Can someone please provide that link. In another comment, he mentions to hide behind a proxy. Prior to doing that, what is the link?

If I then have msg stating I am not from UK, then I will need to hide behind a proxy.

In the acronis ... 8.0 below, I tried clicking the website and no download. Acronis True Image 8.0

Website: http://www.acronis.com

Continue down the article, I tried clicking address below and this is where I do the registration. I do not see any download for Acronis True Image 8.0 Here's the registration / download link: http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe

Filesize: 38MB [not confirmed] License: Freeware (v8 only)

Tx for reading and appreciate help to get the download link. In passing, Vista Premium gives me UAC which I disable. Versions above Vista Premium include imaging program. If Vista sales pitch is security, I prefer if they had provide something I can use like imaging rather than UAC headache. Keep up the good work to all.

Try scrolling down the page, and hovering on all text. Acronis have deliberately made this a tricky procedure because they don't want everyone to get a copy. If this wasn't the case, and they did in fact want to promote it, then the free link would be on their site and a dozen other software download sites Freeware Registry Cleaner

Great news! I sent Chris who maintains that topic about item 95 with Norton Ghost image recommendation and newsletter contradiction. He was sympathetic, mentions this 46best site, and Techsupportalert should have a link to 46best for the Techinical alert.
regards,

Hp provides pre-install bummer copy of Vista on hd. Would like confirmation from Vista users on there experience with ver 8. No, I will not get and use 64 bit Vista for there is lack of application software and thus asking for headache.

I was able to download the 20.75mb exe file.. Tx skibum43. Chris, I provide file size and u can update your info. Also, fat wallet site info is not similar to yours for I was able to download with there info.

thanks for your links. I like this website.

Dear Gemo,

Acronis Disk Image v8.00 download link http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe
shows that offer closed.
Give us new download link if any.
Also, is there any disk image program that clones a particular directory ie., Windows, MS Office folder

cnksoft

That Offer expired

@scrt,

Firstly, you must use Firefox or Opera for this registration exercise, as users of Internet Explorer have reported that the link is missing or hard to find if using that browser. Are you using IE by any chance?

Secondly, here is the registration link (taken from the Best Free Drive Imaging Program review):
http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe

Note that this is a REGISTRATION procedure so there is no set link - you don't get it till you've registered.

Lastly, you must look closely at the result page after registration - the link is there. Try scrolling down the page, and hovering on all text. Acronis have deliberately made this a tricky procedure because they don't want everyone to get a copy. If this wasn't the case, and they did in fact want to promote it, then the free link would be on their site and a dozen other software download sites. That may simply be because they have a tie-in with the magazine concerned, for this promotion.

Read the comments at the foot of the review page - you will find some useful hints. For example this one:
----------------------
First, you have to click on the link given, provide the registration information, and wait for an e-mail (I used my Yahoo account, and it was fine). Click on the link in the e-mail to confirm. Login using your e-mail address and the password they provided. It should show True Image 8. Click on the + to show more info. Then click on "download installation file."
----------------------
...and here is another link with basically the same info:

Hope you make some progress,

chris

Yup. Peter's suggestion re Diagram Designer is good. Been using it for some time. Simplicity is the key. Also makes it a tad limited, but my users like it. Because any infant can learn to use it.

Chris tx for your reply.
In my environment , I mention using Firefox with version number. I also detail the links I use in the post with description which are similar to yours. I followed and review your email instructions prior to claiming for help in this post.

Acronis provided serial number and it does not make sense for them to play hide and seek and thus for us to do hovering. I believe they are professionals with a brilliant staff. They know hide and seek can be defeated easily by users providing in torrent and we can install with one on one serial that acronis email during registration process. Just details/steps were missing or inaccurate from this site.

With info from fat wallet site/link, I was able to download the 20.75mb exe file.. Tx skibum43. Chris, I provide file size and u can update your info. Also, fat wallet site info is not similar to yours for I was able to download with there info. Please correct item 95 recommending Norton Ghost especially from highly negative newsletter article.

Sidenote:
1-If I download this free version, I can upgrade for 29.95 and thus save 20 on ver 11. If I had no version and wanted ver 11, I will pay 49.95.
2-Some software did not mention they can run in Vista 32 bit and I have run those software. Not brave enough to gamble without ver 11 for disk imaging is important to me on Vista and Acronis deserve reward for there hard work. Will need acronis when I plan to have dual operating system on laptop with one hard drive. Hp provides pre-install bummer copy of Vista on hd. Would like confirmation from Vista users on there experience with ver 8. No, I will not get and use 64 bit Vista for there is lack of application software and thus asking for headache.
3-Users should not have problem after following skibum43 instructions.

scrt,

Thanks for updating us here, I really appreciate that.

I'm glad you got it in the end. I'll update my info to reflect your comments.

Regarding the Norton Ghost reference on the old site: the old, flat HTML site is going soon (wahey!) so we will finally be able to do some housekeeping in that department. Also there is a big comparison review there of Acronis v Ghost which is worth reading.
