This site needs a logo and I'd really like your opinion
Check out the logos below that have already been suggested and leave a comment on which one you like most. If you don't like any, please say so.
Maybe you can come up with a design of your own.
Nothing is yet decided so please send in your design to me at editor@techsupportalert.com and if I like it I'll put it up on this page.
What we are looking for
- A logo that keys in to "Gizmo" (and optionally "freeware")
- We want a logo that can be used on this site and as an the basis for an award graphic for software recommended by this site
So put on your thinking cap and send those ideas in.
The winner will receive full credit. If the winner is a commercial graphics company that's fine, your organization will be fully credited.

I disagree with you... no.8 is not childish, and wasn't ment to be... the eye = the all watching eye = looking for software = alert, the character was inspired by the Name Gizmo... it just has a "gizmo look". The design doesn't show up verry well there. And yes, a full character can be developed by the little guy. It's a combination of identity & web2.0 look.
8, 10, 13 are nice logo's. They are modern and that's good for this generation young dudes.

I like 8. It would look great on a t-shirt. Original.
I like 13 if modified as follows: Eliminate the rectangular background, but keep tech support alert, and add "freeware" under Gizmo's. ............Of course, without the quotation marks.

I like 14, drop the large star and just use 5 small stars underneath as top picks
I like 8, because it is fun and original. Its an icon people will remember. I also like the simplicity of 10, but its not nearly as memorable. If 11 had a slightly different design, I would pick it--something cleaner and brighter, and maybe without the angle, though still 3-D. The font is cool for the 7's, but the designs are boring and generic, if well executed. 5 is clever, but not original. 14 is good, but the sub script takes away from the image. Still, these are good choices to pick from.
#8 is most appealing, the little "alien bug" could be quite a good mascot :)
#4 is coolest...

Definitely 5. Clever.
....if what you mean by "clever" is:
Four easy steps to ripping off another logo. If that is what you mean by clever, then it is clever indeed. However, most might think it is a blatent GameCube logo rip-off. That is not so clever.
Why in heavan's name is it still appearing here?
8 gets it from me...has alot more for potential use with the character around the site.
i'm still waiting out for something that screams "winner"... maybe like 6 but not so cartoonish

The only two that stand out for me are 7 and 8. Looking back at all the comments, I think most people agree.

7 is good, so is 4. 3 is a direct ripoff of google -- no good, don't like 2 or 6. None of them really says it to me.

No 14 by a mile. It is a quality logo and indicates that Gizmo is a star (which he certainly is!).

#8 is the one. The "o" looks like Mike from Monsters Inc. :>)
For me it's 1 or 10. 1 is clever, 10 has stylish longevity.
