Thanks Ritho.
Research leads me to moonfruit as an effective leading web site builder for novice. Now looking to see if moonfruit/sitemaker is included in a top webhost company. Heres the logic. MF and SM (same software) have their own webhosting through MF yet it seems they are not so customer friendly at this part of the business.. I know webeden uses sitemaker and I think they have servers in USA but one cannot write them to be sure. I presume I could use moonfruit by downloading the software and then installing into any web host, but I've read that it is better to find a webhost co. that has the software already integrated into its cpanel. |

This is very counter intuitive, but I have found that the cheapest way to host a decent website is with a VPS. For those who don't know what that is, its just a virtual server that you have full root access to, so all the responsibility is in your hands.
There are a few VPS hosts that provide bare bones servers for people at around 5$ a month (and even less for longer terms). Thats pretty amazing considering what you get. My site uses Tinyvps. I have to admit my setup is pretty lame, 128 mb of RAM and 5 GB of hard drive space. Customer support is pretty much non existent too, but hey it only cost 51$ per year. I also get 50 GB of bandwidth monthly. My site runs on Ubuntu with Apache2, Mysql, and php. I don't think people should settle for shared hosting, because its more expensive than a lot of VPS's, and you have to follow more strict TOS, not to mention being restricted to just html, php, and javascript. |

I recommend Host Gator for anyone looking for affordable, reliable hosting. Cpanel, great support, and most importantly, reliability = win in my book.
I currently maintain 1 site, but I've signed up at least half a dozen people with them, and have always heard positive feedback from them. (and no, i'm in no way affiliated with the company)
