To some it is the boot up speed that is appealing. Not to me.
The elimination of the dreaded BIOS is the best part of this announcement. So many people have crashed their motherboards attempting a BIOS update only to be told by their PC manufacturer that it can only be replaced if they have a valid warranty in place (expensive little swap out if it happens to you) ...once fried it can not be reinstated...and a new Microsoft license will be in your future! Some of the newer PCs have provided an improved flash process for a BIOS update, but if the update does not take and you do not have a backup of your previous BIOS, you have a lot of work ahead of you. So many users sit on very old copies of a BIOS because of this. |
