Although I know it is not proper to mention IObits, and I do not currently use their product out of deference to Malwarebytes, I will mention that when I tried Advanced System Care, its initial automatic scan found almost 300 "faulty" registry entries. This after the other four had found nothing. Suffice it to say I was nervous at the least. I decided to uninstall the program in favor of the other four. Perhaps ASC was correct, but that is quite a large number of registry corrections!

I know registry cleaning is a bit controversial, but quite frankly when I uninstall a program I prefer it UNINSTALLED. I want no traces, or as few as possible. Usually, WinUtilities will clean most of the junk files, shortcuts and registry traces (it's a GREAT program-though I find its defragmenter very hit and miss- mostly miss). The other three usually get the leftovers. CC does a very good job, but I've found it a bit conservative (probably for safety). So far none of these four has ever caused as much as a hiccup on my system.

I've only used CC on my Vista laptop as I quite frankly am not as comfortable with Vista's inner workings as I am with XP. I figure better safe there.
A better way to uninstall the program with no trace is to use Revo Uninstaller (review)

I actually have used that program and liked it reasonably well. I never did quite suss out the "Hunter Mode", but need to work with Revo more. I used the other four utilities to scout out "stragglers".

Thanks and Kindest Regards, Kyuzo.
