Default Diabetes software and tracking logs

Do you have diabetes type 1 or 2.
Do you know a friend or relative with the disease?

Here you are 40 years old and in fairly good health. Your at your doctors one day an mention your thirsty all the time. The doctor pricks your finger and your blood glucose read somewhere in the 400's (should be 80 to 110) you have type 2 diabetes

After picking your jaw off the floor. You ask now what. Your doctor should run additional test and load you up with a ton of brochures and literature. You will be given a prescription for a glucose meter and medication.

After the shock wears off, you may start thinking HEY this is the type you don't need shots I can control it with pills. You just except it and go on with your life.

Here are some facts:
There are 23.6 million people in the United States, or 8% of the population, who have diabetes. The total prevalence of diabetes increased 13.5% from 2005-2007. Only 24% of diabetes is undiagnosed, down from 30% in 2005 and from 50% ten years ago. www.diabetes.org

Where you go from here is totally up to you. My advice is to keep this as one of your top priority. Keep track of your health. If managed properly it will just be another one of life's hardships. If not, it will become an insidious disease that will continue to progress to the point of loosing digits and limbs, kidney disease and heart disease.

Oh the software part Here is some help:
Mendosa.com
The free stuff is web based and may require registering.
Here you will find tracking software and downloadable log sheets and spreadsheets. You will need pdf software

I figure most people will question why someone would post something like this. The facts are 1 out of 8 people that see this have diabetes or will get it. This problem appears to be getting worse.

Stay well
