I recently downloaded portable chrome and decided to give it a try. I liked it and decided to make it my default browser. Since the one I downloaded is portable, changing the options/make it default browser, doesn't really make it the default.
I went online to Google a solution and found that I needed to edit the registry, which I didn't want to do myself. Then, I found what I thought to be a great suggestion to change your default browser portable or not, quickly and easily: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows...ed-in-windows/ It works great for me on Windows XP. I understand that allowing a program to edit the registry might not be ideal but I think this one is worth it. Does it work for you? |

Also you can:
Tools > Folder Options > file types from windows explorer and select to open url, mht, etc etc by your favorite browser. But if you really, really like it. Why don't you download and stand alone full package?
