It's true that you can say anything in comments, within reason as the developer is usually looking out for spam, however people fail to realize the value in using Opencomments to verify the integrity of websites. |

Its always good to know about different alternatives, and here knowing about opencomment is good, but you should not tell people to just forget a simple and effective tool.

I just think I was a little overzealous in my excitement and I just went blah about everything. People should be free to use whatever works. I personally wish more people would use Opencomment. So far I've only seen comments on the most common sites, mostly because the population of people who know about it, is itself slim. One of the funniest comments I've seen was for about:config, so when I say any page can be commented, I meant it. True Opencomment is a venue for free speech online. As long as you don't harass others, your free to say whatever you want. However there isn't much that can be said about Youtube so after a while people get the picture and it becomes just a reference as what other people thought. However if more people would comment on scam sites and upon clicking the blue button, read the obvious *Scam alert* review. It would be super helpful in protecting people as well. So, I say just use it alongside WOT. Of course Many sites will go uncommented until the population using Opencomment increases. ![]() Until that time WOT I guess would still be needed. |
