I think a new utility is worth a mention in the article about freeware mp3 tag editors: taghycardia. It is not a tag editor per se, rather an mp3 tag fixing/diagnostic tool that differs from hundreds other tagging programs: it is based on the idea of automatic detecting and correcting faulty metadata. It doesn't require lots of configuring or tedious mastering. Just select root folder of your music library (or any of its subfolders), press Go, and the program basically does the rest. During the mp3 folders scanning the user hasn't got much to do other than click on Yes/No buttons from time to time. All the suggested changes can be reviewed and corrected/cancelled later.
Taghycardia doesn't support online cover art retrieval, but it has integrated Discogs search. Also, it's got a simple embedded tag editor, which lets user to manually change/set basic tag fields for an album (folder) as a whole. As stated on its site, taghycardia is specifically designed to prevent mp3 albums fragmentation on tag-sorting portable mediaplayers due to incorrect track labeling. To that end, it detects tag inconsistencies within mp3 folders-albums and flags missing Artist/Album/Title info (which it can fill in an automatic or semi-automatic way). Also, there is a feature to unify tags in user's "personal" compilations (folders containing tracks by various artists from disparate albums) to make them accessible on an iPod as single entities. http://taghycardia.narod.ru/english.html There's a review of the utility on Addictivetips.com: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows...h-taghycardia/ Last edited by robokopf999; 12.
