Default StandaloneStack 2

I found this little application recently and i thought that this could be a very
nice launcher for my portable apps. StandaloneStack
is, as they mention on their site, a docklet for RocketDock without the RocketDock.

Until now i was using this approach to create a launcher for
my portabe apps, but now with StandaloneStack things look way cooler:

I have XP, so i had to put the shortcut in QuickLaunch folder to have it on my
taskbar, but of course with Windows 7 you can just pin it on your taskbar.
Don't forget to uncheck under Options "keep in memory when stack is closed",
so that it does't run in memory all the time, because it uses about 10 megs
when it's open

I tried both StandaloneStack and 7stacks side by side for a while. Both are good but in the end I went with 7stacks.

Main reason is that, for me, 7stacks tolerates the addition of new shortcuts far better than StandaloneStack seems to.
Sadly both use a surprisingly large amount of memory while open and are sluggish to close.

Hey Sope, thanks for the link, i had never heard of this program before.
I think i know what you mean about this new shortcuts thing that you're talking about. When i added some more shortcuts in the folder that i keep them,
StandaloneStack didn't detect them automatically. I had to go back to menu
and browse to that folder again so that StandaloneStack can add these extra
shortcuts.
Good thing is that is portable. Although they don't mention that on their website,
it writes settings in a .ini file.

Yup that's what was happening with me.

I also originally preferred StandaloneStack as it doesn't require installation (usually I always look for this feature when I have a choice of comparable software) but in the end I just felt 7stacks works slightly better. Not a lot in it though.
