Default Professional Video Production Software Going Open Source

Various FOSS sites have been abuzz the last few days with the news that Lightworks a high end mature video editing software was announced as going to turn open source soon. (This fall) It runs on Win, Mac, and Linux OS's. This is another triumph for the free and open source community.

This also reminds me that this was one area where freeware users were really lacking very many choices. It will be nice to see this change over the next few years.

That's great news!! Really, as you say, we had less choices in this area of freeware. Will be good to have a quality product available for free.

Although my knowledge of video editing is very limited. It appears to be a worthy product for learning the finer skills of video editing.

Cheers
