Smile Freeware video downloader

Hi,
I want to suggest a new freeware program from iWisoft:
iWisoft Free Video Downloader

It can download video, audio, and Flash files from any website, like video sharing website, video blogs, video news site, etc.

Have a look at this nice tool. :-)

You have now linked several times to iWisoft programs which looks suspiciously like an attempt to spam

We already feature this vendor on the site and their video converter is even our editors top pick.

Also, unless I'm missing something obvious the "free" version is not new, in fact it's almost a year old. It's only the commercial one that's "new", although why anyone would want to pay for something like this beats me

Please do not post any more links to iWisoft products otherwise we will regard this as spam and remove them all except our own

MC, this software is different from the one listed in Best Free Audio Video Conversion. That is Iwisoft Video Converter.

This software is Iwisoft Video Downloader and is a new release.

Thanks Anupam. I'm with this (I think?) but I can't find any changelog to suggest that this is any different from the "freeware" release dated 22th February 2009.

I can however see the new "Demo" version from 26th December 2009 which being the only "new" one I would find. Maybe you can shed some more light into my forest by removing some of the trees?

I think there is some confusion here. Which link are you following MC, to give all that data? .

Here is the link for Iwisoft Free Video Downloader, which Areew originally posted.

http://www.iwisoft.com/videodownloader/

This product is freeware. This can be confirmed by following the products link on the above webpage. There is no date of release on the download page of the product. But, this is a new release I think, as I have been seeing the mention of this software on download sites, and software blogs just recently.

I'm taking the information from Softpedia which may or may not be the most appropriate source and although the version numbers don't tally, looking back at previous posts I still feel that this "coincidence" is designed to draw attention to their commercial products. I'm more than happy for this link to stay now, but one more will prove me right and they all go

I always like to get information from the home site of the software, rather than take information from the download sites. Reason being, recently, I have observed discrepancies between what is shown on the download sites, and the software sites, in some cases. Also, by visiting the webpage of the software, we can have a look at the WOT rating of the site.

To be honest, I was quite skeptical when Iwisoft Video Converter was first posted on our site. This is because the site of their other product, Flash to Video converter, has an unsatisfactory WOT rating.
But then, it started getting good response from our editors, and even a standalone article was posted on our site. Moreover, it is now the top choice on the video format article. So, well, it must be good.

Considering the above, this new find should be OK. But yes, as you say, more references to this, will certainly raise doubts, and then I would not stop you, nor myself, in taking appropriate action.
