Default iPrint 6.1 - Eco-Friendly Printing

iPrint 6.1 for Windows is now completely free forever! iPrint is a printing utility that peforms n-up printing (2, 4 pages per page), automatically removes junk pages and collects print jobs together. Most importantly it save the environment and your pocket.

Download link and info page is:
http://www.clicktoconvert.com/iPrint/

No advertising or nag screens and the software is completely unlimited/no restrictions - unrestricted freeware

Most common competitors are FinePrint and PrintGreener but these are paid-for products.

Looking forward to having it reviewed and added to Gizmo's

Hi Mike,

Many thanks for the heads up and welcome to the forum!

I have downloaded and installed iPrint but, whether I get around to using the software is another matter; if I want to save ink, the planet and therefore, money, I normally print text documents and maps in fast draft mode.

Squeezing more onto one page generally means everything is smaller and with my dodgy eyesight less legible!!

I've downloaded and installed it. I've only used it once so far. It did everything it was supposed to do and worked fine. However, it wouldn't close and I had to "end task" to get it to close.

Hi All and thanks for your comments

torresmagnifico - Agreed draft printing is great too but most people don't seem to use it for some reason... I know what you mean about eyesight But I really like the 2-on-1 (2-up) printing option for almost everything I do now.

Kendall - you definately shouldn't have to end-task to close iPrint so please e-mail me if this keeps happening and we'll sort it out for you.

Mike. Ive downloaded and once ive got round to buying some new ink cartridges will look forward to trying it out. I used to use a program called Ink Saver, which gave the option of reducing the amount of ink used on each document printed, does iPrint have this option? It would be nice to have that option available again.

Inksaver was not a freeware product and I only got it as a promo, but the license I have will not work with the ne vista ink saver.

Yours,
Beev

Hi Beev, iP5rint doesn't specifically reduce the amount of ink - you would need to make sure the printing is set as draft print to do that. Also, you can download one of the free green-fonts from the internet that reduce ink without sacrificing readability of the printed text.

Mike, after trying "cancel" several times, I have to go into Task Manager and "end task" the process. Afterwords, I get this error message:

Thanks for the info. How do I go about setting my printer to draft print? is it in the print properties before I print a job? And where would I actually find a green-font?

Thanks.

Beev
