One item to consider adding to go along with the pages on how to back up and restore a system via the use of items like ERUNT and drive imaging utilities would be a tutorial on how to get rid of the inbuilt system restore feature.
Turning off system restore in Windows does not stop system restore from continuing to save backup information in the System Volume Information folders on every partition of your hard drive. Those folders lock the user out by default and the continued saving of information there is fairly pointless when you are keeping images of the system drive. Actual removal of system restore and system volume information can easily allow enough space for a complete extra system image. Also an explanation of what pchealth actually does and can it be disposed of as well? |
