While installing KLite codec pack, I relied on all default settings without changing any options. It comes with MPC Home Cinema player, and it plays my collection of flv files well.

Earlier I installed MPC Home Cinema player alone, which I think it lacks certain version of flash video codec, resulting some flv files failed to play.

From the KLite codec pack which comes with the MPC Home Cinema player, a better result for me though.

If you chose the default settings then it might have installed a lot of things which you might not need, and will be extra, and will take up lot of space on your hard disk. But, if you are happy with that, and it serves your purpose, then its alright I guess. I am quite happy using a dedicated flv player to play flv files.

Computerbild also offers Ashampoo Music Studio 2009 and Ashampoo Cover Studio.

Though I must admit, that you can now even register Ashampoo Burning Studio 9 for free, but for that I haven't found any information, which Magazine or so is giving it away for free. But because I am not sure about the Burning Studio 9 offer, I posted Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 and Music Studio here.
It might seem legit, but it is not clear whether they are offering the software only to the buyers/subscribers of the magazine, or to everyone. I want to be sure, and that's why I was waiting if someone could translate what the website is exactly offering. I would rather leave the offer, than getting something which was not meant for us. Anyways, as I mentioned, the purpose I need to achieve is already being fulfilled with an older version.

We had similar issue with a software earlier. We put up the offer for the general public, but later on we came to know from the software vendors, that... that offer was not meant for everyone, but only for the subscribers of the magazine, or something like that. I do not remember it correctly. One who does, might tell you more about it. Then we had to take the offer down, and had to explain about it to the visitors, and the vendor both. Had a hard time doing that. Since then, we here at TSA, have learned to be careful with what we offer to our visitors. I hope you appreciate that .

I ask them via email, but it could take some time, until they answer. On the site itself is nothing mentioned about for being available to customers only (I am from Germany and I read there only, that it is free).

Anupam is right. There's nothing personal in any of this. If I came across a good screen capture program written by a Tibetan monk I'd want to include it, but we just can't unless what we are able to link visitors to is in English.

TSA has no commercial links or affiliations of any kind so we have no weight to throw around with developers who might need us for advertising purposes. Consequently, we rely 100% on good faith to attract the genuine great offers we've had recently such as Online Armor, Mamutu and others. If we were to continue posting links to offers we cannot verify the answer from these people next time we try our luck will be..... go away. It was a problem with a German offer website which nearly got us into trouble before so as Anupam says I hope you can appreciate where we are coming from with this.

I didn't get an answer yet (though yesterday gmx told me, that it wasn't able to send the email to them and that it will continue to try for 4 more days).

As I said earlier, that i think MPC (not MPC - HC)won't be developed any further: Guliverkli2 inactive by clsid2 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli2/)
