Have you tried running CCleaner (not the registry part ) to delete cookies, history etc., and starting again from scratch?

Yes, I do use CCleaner regularly. I am if if anything probably over obsessive about this. On every startup I run CCleaner (both sections), and a couple of others, including Wise and Eusing registry cleaners.

Have you installed a hosts file?

If you have it can be found at the following path:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (for xp).

Note: Hosts files can be installed only with admin rights.

Using registry cleaners to this extent can have the opposite effect to that you might be expecting (or worse). Our editor Remah is currently working on some new material in this area so stay tuned to the new articles section on the main page
