The crooks keep coming up with new and better ways to steal from your bank account. This link describes a new exploit that is quite sophisticated.

@v.laurie: Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have to get infected in the first place according to the Trusteer article:

Step 1 – Malware Post-Login Attack - Credentials Stolen:

a. Fraudsters infect the victim’s machine with Man in the Browser malware (any MitB malware, e.g. Zeus, SpyEye, Carberp), with a suitable configuration.

So a decent anti malware scanner should stop this unless the person does something really, really stupid like click on email links which say "Your banking password is going to expire. Please logon and change the password"?


Love it when the "security" types like trusteer try to scare us (even more) or am I missing out something?

I agree with you CU. Only the really stupid would be caught by this - and probably will anyway by other malware.

Trusteer software is getting pushed with a number of online banks in the UK. Mine for one.

I'm not saying the threat is not real, but it certainly won't harm Trusteer to make sure as many people are aware of it as possible!
