Sadly I'm getting problems with this latest update (Windows 7 64-bit).

Most sandboxed programs are crashing on exit with error messages similar to this one :-

"The instruction at 0x770f32a0 referenced memory at 0x005da3ea. The memory could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program"

Tzuk is aware of the problem as there are plenty of people experiencing the same problems. I've also posted details on the Sandboxie website.

My suggestion would be to wait for the next update.

EDIT: Update - should have looked at the Sandboxie forum this morning , Tzuk appears to have fixed the problem already, it was related to Avast AV.
Ref: Sandboxie forum thread

I must agree with one of the posters there who says "This is the best supported program on the internet."

Great job!

Thanks for the info. Sandboxie and Private Firewall is all I'm using these days.

I'm having a problem with Sandboxie on one of my machines. When I try to run a browser andboxed, I have tried with Firefox, Opera and IE, I get the same problem that it appears to try and launch, but then instantly closes itself without the browser loading. I do notice the sandboxie icon in the tray gets the red dots right after launch, but then immediately changes to the cross which indicates its deleting the contents of the sandbox, then the plain yellow icon.

I cannot think why this is happening as I have the program set up exactly the same as my other machine, the only difference is the OS I am having the problem on is Vista Ultimate 32-bit, also different AV, AVG is on the problem machine. Obviously other installed software is not exactly the same, but I assume that would be the main things that may cause conflict. Windows built in firewall being used.

When I first installed sandboxie on the problem machine, which was version 3.61 I believe (the one before the latest version as I've only updated it once since install) it worked without any issues for the first few days, then I had this issue, but every once in a while it would run as normal. Also, the first run after I updated to the latest version it ran smoothly, but not again since.

Any suggestions as to why this would be happening?

rikishi19, usually if there is a problem, SBIE issues a message with a clue on whats causing the problem and what to do to fix it. Are you getting a message?

Since you are using AVG, make sure AVG Antivirus/Linkscanner is selected on software compatibility setting. Your problem might be caused by a conflict with a program that you have in the computer that's giving you trouble.

You should create a new sandbox and without changing any settings, run your browsers and see if you still have a problem. If you don't, it means something is wrong or corrupted in the sandbox that you are using.

I thought to replace my antivirus program with Sandboxie (on one of my older PC's), given that my experience with computers is quite good. But, I was just wondering if there's an option in Sandboxie, to protect from usb threats. I find that the Force Folder option is only available in the paid version.
