Default 64-bit Sandboxie

I have been reluctant to try Sanboxie as of yet as I am running 64-bit Windows 7 and I'm aware the 64-bit version of Sanboxie does not yet provide the same level of protection.

I am however unsure as to how vulnerable a 64-bit system is. What the flaws are at this moment?

The last time I read through the information about the 64-bit version, I could not work out exactly what it meant.

rikishi19, Sandboxie protection for 64 Bit computer has been getting better, please read:

I am on 32Bit but if I was using a 64Bit computer, I would install SBIE and after
using it for a few days, I would enable the new Experimental Protection.

I think I may give it a wirl and see how it goes.

Hopefully in the future the 64-bit version will be able to provide as much protection as 32-bit and I'll be able to go without AV software eventually.

It does already, look at Experimental Protection. Add restrictions, and you're virtually malware-proof. Most other security software isn't nearly as effective on Windows 64-bit.

@rikishi19, I agree with what JL is saying. Install SBIE and you ll have the best protection that is available.
No question about it.

I'm definately going to install it. Just won't go without MSE until the 64-bit version is as flawless as the 32-bit version.

MSE and SBIE should work great on 64Bits. Installing SBIE does not mean that you replace your AV. Use SBIE for about 2 years and then think about that, not now. Thats what I recommend you do if you decide to try SBIE.

Been using SBIE and MSE on a Windows 7 64-bit machine for a couple months now. It's flawless. No problems or issues. I feel extremely secure.

In fact, I can't remember the last time I ran SAS or MWB. I just don't feel the need to anymore.

However, I'm probably a long way away from uninstalling MSE. I've still got to learn about multiple sandboxes and restrictions.

Good to see someone with the same set-up as me having such great success.

The only thing that had put me off using it until now was uncertainty of the stability at this time.

Looks good all.
