Bill Pytlovany, the author of WinPatrol, has a post on his blog that is worth reading. It discusses how bad sites can buy key Google ad words like "WinPatrol" and mislead unwary surfers and how "legitimate" sites carry bad links in ads.

Great post
![]() Also worth pointing out that switching to the DuckDuckGo search engine mostly just removes stuff of no consequence anyway (compared to Google) and offers a choice to display WOT ratings in results without having to install this as an extension. No tracking either. http://duckduckgo.com/about.html

I always thought that Google diluted my search results by showing hundreds of thousands of possible hits.
Took your advice MC about DuckDuckGO (IMO the name does it an injustice) but I am pleasantly surprised by the clean yet relevant results. It now resides in my search engine manager. |
