i use keepass for records

but most of my password is the same one just modified for the site

for example if for this site, i might use giz123456 and for google i would use goo123456 and yahoo yah123456... not very hard but the actual password part (123456) is a random generated password but since I only use 1, I just have to memorize 1 password and then modify it to the site I'm using. fairly simple but works fairly well, and this way if password is compromised, it's likely they won't get my other accounts because the passwords are still different. Though now that you all know my system lol But I toss in some numbers too so :P

My method is too simplistic (for now) here goes:

1. Using Firefox's inbuilt password manager with addons like securelogin+master password+password exporter. Using mozbackup for regular backups to pendrive and external drive which I only have access to. Don't trust online password storing sites/managers (wayyyyyyyy too much paranoia)

All my passwords are different.

Don't store passwords for banking sites and use their online keyboard thingy whenever possible

All my passwords are 16 mixed characters and saved individually on notepad including information to reset it if needed i.e. alternate mail address and security question + answer. I then zip + password protect each of them with the same password I can remember. Firefox is only permitted to remember passwords for the forums I visit. The zipped files are stored in 4 separate locations plus on a dvd thats kept hidden.
