I tried Threat Fire a few years ago, it was too finicky, slowed my machine down, that and other things... Does anyone here use it? good/bad reports? I wanted to see if running threat Fire with XP firewall would give me adequate protection. PC Tools has most likely made some changes since then.. at present I'm using MSE and Comodo firewall

I currently do not have TF installed on either my DT or LT but this purely a personal choice and nothing to do with how I rate the software.
If you have Comodo set up with Defense+ and MSE then you already have a good security base. My advice would be to give a try and if you find it is slowing your machine down then uninstall it. If on the other hand everything runs tickety-boo then you have another layer of free security which is heuristic rather than signature based. ![]() If you don't get along with TF then Winpatrol Free could be another option to bolster your defences. http://www.winpatrol.com/

I had TF on my Vista Home Premium 64-bit machine for well over a year but, a few weeks ago, I was getting a lot of problems with it (slow down, conflicts etc.) so I uninstalled it. Got a new HDD with Win 7 32-bit now and haven't put it on there. Also had many problems with Windows Defender so made sure I haven't got that either. All seems fine with Avast free; and I may use WinPatrol as that worked fine before.
