I started using OpenDNS about a month ago or so. I really like it. I like the added security it gives me and I like the new caching. However, I've noticed a significant increase in my ping times for gaming purposes. I'm a gamer and online gaming is all about ping time and FPS (Frames Per Second). I'm curious if anyone else has noticed an increase in ping times when using OpenDNS?

I thought I'd mention this as recently I've encountered several OpenDNS users who were not aware that they need to update the IP address details in order to retain their preferences set for the service.
Normally, if you have a fixed IP address from your ISP this is not an issue but if like mine your IP address is dynamic, then every time it changes you loose your OpenDNS preference settings. This small updater from OpenDNS will sit in your tray and update your IP address (and preference settings) automatically. It will flash green and also display a balloon message to confirm each change. Memory use is similar to a typical resource meter or application launcher i.e. somewhere into the low end of double figures. http://www.opendns.com/support/article/90
