Seems like the kind of scanner that updates via a whole download, instead of just the signatures via the program. I hate those.
Other examples include Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, Dr.Web CureIt, VIPRE Rescue, Norman Malware Cleaner, etc. Still, it's worth adding to the security list. Seems portable as well. |

Last night I felt like playing the "scanning game", ended up playing with
Microsoft's Safety Scanner, SAS 5 and NPE.. I used Microsoft's Safety Scanner only to scan the Windows folder and Documents and settings folder. The first scan took about an hour, the second one about half an hour. When you scan a folder, it scans the selected folder together with the a scan for the most important areas where malware might hide. I got what I expected from it. Long and nothing to be found. Bo |
