Default New PC acting funny

I just have a quick question. Today I brought bothy my browsers up and both were unable to connect on first try to a bookmarked website. It too 2 or 3 tries then the website came up unformatted and took a refresh to get it up looking proper. Is this some sort of nasty little bug I may have on my PC?

I run MBAM, SAS and MSE on full-scan once a week and in between I run quick scans with all 3. I'm using the Windows 7 firewall as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check your HOSTS file and DNS settings. Also check your router settings.

Scan with Hitman Pro and maybe Avira Rescue System.

Report back the results.

hm, what internet connection? It kind of sounds like you are timing out before getting the full page to display and are only displaying the text.

Hi astrowabbit, I think eyeb might be right, try pinging yahoo and see
what comes up before you start toying with your DNS, Host, scanning,
etc.
click start ---> run --> cmd (ENTER)

copy and paste: ping yahoo.com -t

You ll stop it and see results by clicking...Ctrl + C.

I got a ping range from 37ms to 40ms.

That problem has not re-occured.

Could it have been a problem at my ISP's end?

>> Check your HOSTS file and DNS settings. Also check your router settings.

I'm afraid I don't know how to do this.

I'm running cable and I did a speed test and am running at 10 mb/s.

Maybe I'll look on this siote for Hitman Pro and try running that and also a full scan with my other tools.

If this is a wired connection from your router, sometimes the cable supplied between it and your PC does not have a compatible rating. Don't ask me to explain this 'coz I don't understand the technical specs. All I know is that I bought a D-Link a while ago and my tech needed to "set" the cable speed in Windows and also install a "speed changer" shortcut on my Linux desktop in order for it to work properly. Maybe this has nothing to do with your situation at all, but just another idea
