Hey MC,
Could you elaborate on this? I am not following you. If your saying you have 32bit Windows installed on hardware that is capable of running a 64bit os, that shouldn't make a difference. AFAIK all modern hardware nowadays is capable of running either. Unless I am not following your statement correctly. Or are you saying you have Panda installed in a 32bit virtual Windows on a 64bit os?

No, you're right and it shouldn't but I'm just hunting for some reasons why this might be happening. It's was an almost new install of Windows and there was nothing else on there which could have caused a conflict. It was fine for the first day then CPU climbed to around 50%. Fixed this with a restart and then did a scan which hung with CPU again at 50%. I'm looking at something else at the moment so it had to come off anyway but I also had this with the x64 bit version of W7 installed a couple of months back.

I have seen this before on other threads. I think after you install it, your suppose to wait a little while for Panda to learn your system. That is what pbust said over at Wilders anyway. BTW is this with the current version 1.01 that you are talking about or before?

It's 1.01 which I installed having read that these things had been "fixed". I'll stay in touch with their site and maybe look again in a while. I'm actually running a commercial product at the moment which may or may not have potential for a free release here so I can't re-try Panda just yet anyway.

Would just add that I had no problems with the last V3 release of CIS on Windows 7, but because of the nature of this other product I did a clean install and put CIS in as firewall only with no D+. I had several instances of the GUI window locking on screen with no way to remove it other than killing the service which effectively then required a reboot. Amazing, give it far less work to do and it throws up a bug. Back now with Privatefirewall.

I've had Panda Cloud AV on my XP SP3 machine now for a good 3 weeks and have had no issues with its performance. If one uses the Panda Cloud uninstall tool, it will uninstall PCAV cleanly so that if you need or want to try another antivirus\malware product , you can. PCAV is very light on my system and provides an additional layer of protection to LUA, Firewall, and\or HIPS.

Thanks for the heads up; have installed and ran an optimised scan on my LT.

If anyone has Avira Antivir installed you need to disable the guard in order to run a scan otherwise Panda will ask you to restart your PC ad nauseum!
