I installed it and used it for about 10 minutes before uninstalling it. I never tried the beta so I wasn't familiar with it. I must say that it doesn't get any more simple than this. I think simple is good, but personally would like a few more configuration options. I ran a quick scan and it detected a Creative exe file in my SysWOW64 folder as being a dialer.
I didn't see anywhere where it would give me the choice to ignore it, it only said that I could restore the file if I wanted after reboot. The file was digitally signed by Creative and matched the date last time accessed when I installed my sound drivers. I just didn't get a good feel from the product personally, so I am back with MSE.

I have been keeping an eye on the discussion about the 1.0 build over at Wilders. I haven't looked at the Panda forum to be honest, but Wilders is good enough for me. This 1.0 build that was released back on Nov 10, 2009 is more like a RC IMO. I am not criticizing it, just going by what I have seen. It has quite a few bugs. Pbust has been alluding to releasing a hotfix (1.01) update before the 1.1 build to address a lot of these bugs, then maybe add some new functionality and more fixes to the 1.1 build. People have been anxious for the hotfix. I put together a pc with older hardware a little while back. The mobo came out of a HP Compaq with XP installed on it. I call it my retro build.
I originally put Win98 on it, but couldn't get my AGP nVidia 6800xt to work right. Perhaps it was the irq assignments, or just Win98 itself I don't know. The igp worked fine though. It is an SIS mother board built about 5yrs ago. It was pretty cool when I visited the SIS site, and they had all the drivers for Win98 for that board. WinXP is way more stable though, so I can still play older games with it. I have Keiro installed for the firewall and nothing else. If Panda will go on and release this hotfix update or the new build, then I will install it on my retro pc. I won't be doing much online activity with it, so I as not very concerned with be compromised and I want my security on it to be super lite. That way I can use the resources to play my old games and reminisce.

Users have experienced high cpu cycles after first installing Panda Cloud AV. If anyone has this issue then give the program a little time to auto update itself with a hotfix that was pushed out about month ago.

Yes, the process [PSANHost.exe] always occupied more than 40% CUP usage.
The problem still exceed even I referred this to Panda at beta stage. They claimed that I might run PCAV with some other AV together, but actually I didn't. |

I have x32 Windows 7 installed into an x64 environment now and Panda Cloud doesn't seem to like it. I had one failed install (services active with tray icon but nothing showing in add/remove) and the two successful attempts both resulted in the Panda service running CPU at around 50%. I thought this had been fixed in the latest release but for me I guess not. I've not undertaken any malware testing myself but the information I've read elsewhere all follows the same line. Not the best at installing into an already infected system, but in a clean environment well capable of keeping it that way.

I'm not sure whether this post adds any value to this thread or not, but I'll put it up here and MC can remove it if he so chooses.
I'm running Panda Cloud AV 1.01 on my old XP SP3 box and have experienced no installation issues, no cpu spikes, no conflicts of any nature. I have not done any malware testing, but like how light it is on my system compared to Avast and MSE. And no nag or pop up windows. |
