Hello everyone
sorry if this question has been asked before. My wife just got a new laptop with built in wifi and she's interested in using it for internet on some hotspot places around her office. She's probably got bored with her phone ![]() I told her to be careful because it's not like phone, someone could enter her computer because she's on public network. Please correct me if I'm wrong. She uses also the laptor for work and for internet banking. As far as I know, someone could steal password etc on phone via bluetooth. I'm not good at network security (wireless), I always use private internet line (wire) and a phone. I have installed my standard softwares on her laptop : Avast, Online Armor, and Winpatrol (Vista Home Edition). Maybe change the AV to Avira because she uses it on her office PC. Anyone can suggest me what other softwares should she use? Thanks in advance |

Yes. Three words. Virtual Private Network. VPN. A VPN creates a secure encrypted "tunnel" between your computer and a trusted server. All data sent to and from the internet is first encrypted before ever leaving the computer, so you have no worries about "eves dropping" "sniffing" "man-in-the-middle" and other such attacks.
Here is the recommended ones on our site. http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...ng-service.htm If she is not super concerned about having high bandwidth (e.g. watching lots of video) free ones like Hotspot Shield should do the trick.
