Default My HitmanPro Review

Hitman Pro by SurfRight is an effective on-demand anti-malware scanner.

It is free for scanning purposes, but removal requires a 30-day trial license. Fortunately, that license won't be activated unless you choose so. Therefore, you can keep it for as long as you want with the removal capabilities.

What separates this program from the others is its ability to upload suspicious files into its cloud servers. Once uploaded, the file gets scanned by 5 different anti-malware scanners: Prevx, Dr.Web, Emsisoft, G Data, and IKARUS.

It scans the critical parts of your computer very quickly, usually within 2 minutes. The Quick Scan works even faster, finishing within 30 seconds on my computer. Early Warning Scoring is only recommended if you have no internet connection, and it isn't as effective as the Default Scan.

Hitman Pro also has some other useful settings. It can scan your computer daily during startup, create a restore point before removing files, add right-click scan to your context menu, scan for tracking cookies, and even protect users of earlier Windows OS from the LNK vulnerability (the Microsoft patch only supports XP SP3 and above).

This program is available in 22 different languages and only takes up 6.63 MB in your hard drive. It also natively supports Windows 64-bit.

There are things I dislike about Hitman Pro though. It isn't able to fully scan your system, but that's because they don't want too much load on their servers, which is understandable. Also, the right-click scan skips subdirectories within the folder.

Overall I really like this program, and recommend it to everyone who wants a second opinion on the security of their system.

Which can be very annoying, when you download for example a portable application, since you have to scan each subfolder seperately. And on top of that you have to wait ten seconds between the scans, if you use the free version

Also Hitman suffers from false positives coming from Prevx's engine

Hi J.L.

Thank you for your review. But there is one thing I don't fully understand.

Dose it mean that the removal capabilities will be kept as long as we don't activate the trial license?

My regards,
Tyler

This is correct. If you do get an infection and activate HitmanPro to remove it for you then you have another 29 days of removal capability left, although the scanner will still function thereafter.
