This looks to be a very well thought out and structured piece of software.
Trouble is so do a lot of others and they turn out to be as duff as old dodo! That said there's top class stuff coming out of Russia already so this is definitely worth a look. Can't be any riskier than running CIS! The company itself is truly embryonic but then I can remember when Microsoft and MAC were like that! I presently don't have the facilities to run this but if anyone else wants to try and feedback - great! Any other first hand experience would also be greatly appreciated. http://www.online-solutions.ru/en/os...rity_suite.php

Installed it on my works PC...It takes hold of your booting process, changes boot screen to a ugly green color , start working early on your start up...Started creating rules... Kept on asking me the whole time about defining rules. It made my system crash(blue screen) Tried to restart to uninstall. Service has been blanked out, so i could not stop or disable service... cause it kept asking me on the rules. Did a system restore..got my system working again. Horrible experience...

Thanks for the feedback. Were you running this on XP or Vista?
I haven't lost faith completely (yet!) because the (one and only) recent comment on their forum appears to be genuine and written in English by a Chinese tester who seems impressed although he says the program still needs work. I'm currently attempting to open up a dialogue with the developers direct in St. Petersburg and will let everyone know how I get on. Thanks for taking the risk and reporting back.

Just to update, I received an email from Mihail Fradkov at Online Solutions today in which he has expressed a desire to work with Techsupportalert regarding their security suite software. I think he is more pleased with how I approached them rather than the semi-dismissive response he got from Wilders. Certainly this software is not yet ready for promotion on our main page and in fairness their own website warning could not be much more explicit! My own feelings are that although not offering anything radically new the concept is different enough to make it a real alternative, especially if it turns out to be stable!
In his email Mihail has said they are busy working on the new release and may not be able to get back to me for a week or two. Once I've been able to agree with them on how we can exchange information and get some working copies under evaluation then I'll start posting progress reports here. I'm also going to suggest that they submit the software to David Matousec at Difinex for testing as soon as it's out of Beta but I'm not sure how practical this might be.

I just want to re-emphasize that this is Beta software and in addition to reading the warning on the security suite page potential users should also review the list of missing features and known issues before deciding whether to try it.
http://www.online-solutions.ru/en/osss_known_issues.php This type of software is best suited for installation onto a spare machine containing nothing of importance. This will enable you to play around with the settings and evaluate the program without fear of causing damage or losing data. The main problem I have is that it is not tested for compatibility with USB broadband modems. Unfortunately, where I am this is the only option I have to connect! Therefore, any network issues I encounter may well not affect the majority of other users, or be of much value to the developers. A more complete version suitable for evaluation across a more diverse range of environments should be available within a few weeks. Note: The is no 64 bit compatibility. I also won't have another spare machine for about a month. This is why I'm personally stuck for resources at the moment!

Latest update - zero! No further response as yet from the developers although I noted that the Beta was updated on 22nd April. I've now posted on their forum in an attempt to get some user feedback.
I can see by the visit numbers that quite a few people are now taking an interest in this, but for some reason not posting in the forum. I'll also post on Wilders which is guaranteed to shake a few trees to see what falls out from there! I'm still very keen to see this in operation because of the unique way in which it loads at system boot. May well be a candidate for 'next generation' antimalware but it still needs to work! Will keep everyone informed. MC

Update:
I had a very comprehensive reply to my last email from Mikhail at OSS today with news of the latest developments. He appreciates that these things are taking time but I also appreciate that they want to get this right and not rush out releases before they are ready (like some favorite vendors we all know!). There will be a further set of releases heading up to the final and each one will have more of the missing components included. Several highly skilled testers are already running the software and it's proving extremely competent and stable (another bonus then!). If you just want to play then download the latest beta but if you want it for real protection then I'd wait just a bit longer. Naturally I'll post the details when I believe the current version is complete enough to be used for full protection. I remain quietly excited and confident about this so long as it continues to be available as freeware. I have asked Mikhail if they intend to do a "Panda" on us once the beta testings finished and I'll let you know what his response is!
