Should be adequate enough for average safe use like FortiClient but based on it's tested performance I wouldn't be rushing to uninstall what I already have and replace it with this one

Thought I would try it out and virusbuster internal drive wouldn't install here even after quite a few reboots. Anyway am back to old dependables, Avira and Private firewall. Too bad they just don't offer the updated O/P firewall only and or have an option to install the anti virus along with it somewhat like the Comodo suite.

Agnitum has a new free security suite "Outpost Security Suite Free 7.0". They are not offering a free firewall any more so this must be taking its place. If I didn't like avast so much I might be more tempted to try it.

If this applied to all then there wouldn't be many of us left
I sometimes post myself and then find the same or similar information somewhere else.I tried this briefly about two weeks ago and it seemed OK but I wasn't happy at all with their website layout. If the comparison shown between this and the paid suite is valid then it's just too crippled to be of much use and certainly IMO not a reason to use it for just the firewall alone, especially considering Privatefirewall's current status which is excellent. Like everything else though it's likely to be good enough for anyone who wants a suite and is prepared to adopt a common sense approach to surfing along with it. To me though it looks just like a marketing ploy to upsell the commercial product.

MC,
Thanks made me feel better about myself. I'm still using there 2009 free firewall it is working fine. I use a common sense approach to my surfing so there firewall should be good for a long time, maybe at some point they will update the free FW. Like I said I like avast to much so I don't want to change for changes sake. Avast with Outpost free and MBAM and SAS plus Winpatrol free I have never had any major problems. Beside Winpatrol has given me more notification than Outpost so I'm happy with my setup. Dan |

Trust me, this is always the best policy
![]() If you have a set up which you like and is working for you then stick with it. Sure other products are designed to make you change because that's what the vendors want. With a lot of security products though the risk of leaving something behind that will conflict with a new installation is not worth taking. If anyone feels a real need to change then IMO AppRemover is the best of the independent removal tools. Be sure to check out the list of supported applications first. http://www.appremover.com/ http://www.appremover.com/supported-applications
