Default Browser Protection Utility

What browser protection utility do you use, and what's your view on these apps?

I use the standard facility included with Opera which uses combined information from Netcraft, Phishtak and HauteSecure plus I scan all my download links with Dr. Web. It's necessary to manually edit your Opera directory to include the Dr. Web script so for novice users Firefox is a better option because it loads automatically as a plugin.

I believe MC's talking about this. It works in IE, Firefox, Thunderbird and Opera.

Personally I virtually always use Opera setup with DropMyRights, and also frequently from within Sandboxie. Works well for me.

I just hope your eyes are better than mine when it comes to editing this into your Opera script file!

Don't worry - it's just that I need new glasses for when I'm working with text!

Meant to ask you actually if you are using the Alpha 10 version of Opera and if so what you think of it? I'm a long time Opera fan and was quite impressed to begin with until I saw Minefield. If this gets turned into a version of Firefox sometime soon Opera will be needing more than what's currently in this Alpha. Be interested in your own thoughts.

Firefox with SandBoxie (+drop rights) for me. I must say, SandBoxie is another excellent layer of security for anyone's computer. Also you can reinforce it with the drop rights option, which basically combines it with the power DMR, giving you the best of both worlds. Going into a limited user (or even power user) account is impossible for me, too many of my personal software requires administrative privileges, and it's far too inconvenient for my daily tasks. As for Returnil, I could say the same, it pretty much erases everything I do for that session (even though you can recover files), and is just too inconvenient. Lastly, and least, GesWall. I've experienced hell with this program, and though I should've tried more, I doubt I will get used to such a thing. That was a year ago, but now I don't feel like trying out so many softwares anymore. Just my opinion on this.
