Hi jiffy
I'm just as frustrated as everyone else over this. Good product but slow development and only spasmodic contact possible with their devs. This thread at Wilders repeats my own findings exactly. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...ht=drivesentry

Hm, interesting stuff. I am trialing now Dr.Web. Prima vista it doesn't slow down much the system and for what I have heard it cleans well an infested system.
Yes, fast browsing, but memory usage above average, it adds 5 processes from what I can see in the task manager, cpu usage low, the commit charge overall level is very reasonable. Looks good for now.

Another two cents.... In another thread (Portable Apps), I mentioned using Drive Sentry as an alternative to Threatfire on my own machine and as part of a security install on some friend's laptops/desktops. (did this about two weeks ago)
I cancelled the install because it found my AV (ESET NOD32) and said to uninstall it first. I was only after the HIPS, didn't realize it was AV also. Just FYI on another AV conflict, trying to use Drive Sentry. PS. Should I reinstall Threatfire and NOT un-install SuperAntispyware? |

Actually I won't go that far as to recommend Dr.Web for every day work, it does increase the commit charge over time. A memory leakage perhaps? Not good. But for cleaning purposes it is very good. From my own experience ESET Smart Security is very good for every day work, perhaps together with Shadow Defender and with a back-up of the system, just in case. Threatfire is a behavioral blocker if I am not mistaken, just like Mamutu. It is not a very gentle piece of software, can slowdown things.
