In my opinion Immunet free is pretty much useless since it is not made to protect a computer by itself but to run alongside a classical AV. Other cloud AVs like PandaCloud and Kingsoft don't have so many limitations to their free versions
Can someone remind me if both versions are made to run alongside or is it just the free version? Is the paid version made to install along with another AV like MSE?

Hey JohnnyDollar.
I'm using the free version (i do have a license but it's never worked since the first time i had to reinstall the OS) but as far as i can tell the only practical limitation is the tetra scanner (for rootkit detection) being disabled. Possibly there are other features disabled but i've not looked. To be honest, if it weren't so light on the system i probably wouldn't bother but hey, it can't hurt and i've got used to it being there.

hm tried it, it's nice but i don't plan on keeping it for now. I'll keep an eye on its reviews if I remember.

It's big selling point is that it's community based. If one person has an infected file, he can upload it to immunet and rest will know it. Problem I have with this is that that first person has to know it's a virus... How would he know that without using another scanner? In this case the antivirus companies would be sharing this information and already be releasing updated databased.

This would be good for peopl that don't update regularly but I have avira updating hourly so I feel like it's 0 day detection benefit decreases since it's own detection rate is already lower than avira's

edit: another thing I don't like is the lack of offline scan. The paid one is suppose to have this but I only tried the free one. The reason I like offline scan is that when I think I'm infected/get alerts that aren't resolving, I would update my databases then take computer offline and scan. I do this because I'd have no idea what virus/etc is doing and if computer is offline I can maybe prevent further data from being stolen or prevent it from spreading off of computer.
