I had tried Ashampoo Firewall earlier, and I did not like it. Don't remember the exact reasons now, but I am not going for it again, unless I start to read something good about it from reputed sites.

I posted another reminder on their forum yesterday, and I got a reply telling me to follow some steps. Following those, I got my connection running, and now I have the latest version of PC Tools Firewall on my PC.
All I had to do was to go to the Local Connection properties, uncheck the PC Tools Firewall Driver, and press OK. That's it... I got the connection up and running. Did not had this problem anytime since I am running PC Tools Firewall. Have asked more about it.

Well, the people at the forum had to be reminded to reply, and they did reply after that reminder. So yes, its good to get a helpful reply from their side.
PC Tools is a good firewall for the average and experienced users. Its a very easy, and friendly firewall. Kinda like install and forget. Of course to take more out of a firewall, you have to dig deeper and make some settings, but its really good for average users too. I too have Avast on my PC, and it plays well with it. In response to my query about the PC Tools Firewall Driver, they have posted : Quote:
