Overmann, I think you should have some kind of protection. I believe
that, as you are now, is just a matter of time before you get infected. You might even be infected now, you just dont know it. Find aplications that are light and that works well on your PC and you ll be fine. You can get infected even by visiting mother Teresas webpage and your browsing even though normal it is dangerous when you visit porn sites. If I was you I would at least add Sandboxie and keep the scanner to scan downloads. Sandboxie does not slow down my PC at all and the PC feels the same with or without SBIE. It would probably be the same on yours. Bo |

Nothing can make you invincible but its proven that you can browse
with no AV when using SBIE alone and not get infected just like its also proven that browsing like you do will get you in trouble. You are not invincible because you might recover a infected file, if that file is executed then you ll get infected. Its your fault if you recover and execute that file. Scan the file before executing. I am just giving you something that has worked well for me and its better for prevention than any other application that I know of. I am always thinking on preventing infections not detecting them after the fact like you do. Detecting infection is ancient History. Do you want to be part of the future/present or the past? That my friend is for you to figure out. I did 2 years ago. Bo |

Nah, couldn't tolerate it. Now I'm looking for a way to not start explorer at windows startup, task manager and k-meleon web browser are everything I need.
And my dormant anti-malware scanners at desktop. |

add or change nothing. Can you tell me, when you scan with your dormant anti-malware scanners at desktop, do they find anything or not? Bo |

Before that, I major trojan caused me some troubles. Opening google homepage everytime I clicked a random link, preventing Housecall from updating. But SAS was able to stop it. Housecall once detected a weird "1.exe" as a trojan. Now I think I'm pretty clean, I'll post again if anything was detected today or tomorrow, I've had some naughty browsing lately. |
