My Protection setup is:

Avast Home Free,
Threatfire Free,

MBAM,
SAS,
SbS&d,

Filseclab Free Firewall.

Most times when I scan nothing is found. If I have doubts about my scans I back them up with on-line scans from the major players, and they never find anything either so I must be clean, RIGHT!! (LOL)

Yup, danjmilos, I think you must be clean .

Hi Elizabeth... well, I never do care about cookies much. At the end of the day, I just use CCleaner to clean up all the crap that accumulated during the day. Thats it. But, I searched on google about atdmt, and it sure seems to be a notorious thing... and yes, it comes from atlassolutions.

Dont know where it came from, but if you want to have it removed, you should try posting in some malware forums for help... and they may help you remove it. They will ask you to post HiJackThis logs and all.

Seems I am the weakest link here... I am currently using the beta version of Eset Smart Security, which is about to expire next week. Would switch to Avast Home Edition after that... Not though about a firewall, but I guess windows firewall would suffice me.

That said, I have not been infected for the last 4 years or so. Touchwood...... Hoping it remains the same in future.

hmm..."little village in Cambridgeshire" eh?
If that's St. Neots or nearby you are a lucky lady! Lots of farmers and posh houses! Almost makes me want to come back to the UK - but not quite! I do miss the fishing though!

Okay, there's probably something that needs to be clarified here....spyware is malware. An explanation; malware is a derivation from the two words malicious software and is not a separate type of infection. It is, in fact, the collective name for all the different varieties; spyware, trojans, worms, rootkits, adware and viruses...altogether they are known as malware.

Thanks Anupam, I went into programs and found Atlas sitting in there so got rid of it and that seems to have done the trick. I had noticed the Atlas program in there but thought it was a Human Anatomy program I have so never bothered with it. got rid of the blighter now tho...

St Neots! that is closer to where I work than live, I'm about 8 miles from St Neots, rather flat around here though, but yes, it is a lovely place to live.

You have the sunshine, fejoida and samba to compensate

Great to hear you got rid of it Elizabeth. I had read about it on some sites, and it was suggested to search for the software, and remove it. But, I had not suggested it to you, since you only mentioned the cookie, and nothing else. Anyways, glad you got rid of it, and thanks for sharing here. More people will be benefited by it.
