Hi,
Previously I was running Online Armor with Comodo Memory Firewall and Comodo BOClean. I had read that these two were now part of CIS 3.10. So I decided to give CIS 3.10 a try. My question is, at my security level am I getting the benefit now that I am using Comodo firewall that I did before? Are the components of Comodo Memory Firewall and Comodo BOClean at work for me now? I just want to make sure I have increased my security and not gone the other way with it. I now only have Avira AntiVir personal and Comodo running in real time. I also have SpywareBlaster, MBAM and SAS on my PC. My Comodo settings: Firewall Security Level = Safe Mode Defense + Security Level = Safe Mode Configuration = Comodo Proactive Security Dogpile

As long as you follow safe computing practices you should be alright.

I believe BOClean is incorporated in the AV part of CIS so if you don't use the AV part of CIS, you don't benefit from BOClean. Saying that, I also believe that the standalone BOClean will cease to be supported now it's part of CIS so it will become obsolete even if you keep it.

Some of the components you need are not enabled with the default settings although you may already be aware which these are. There are some other settings too you may wish to consider such as the DNS service monitoring. The screenies below are from my own settings. Thanks for the settings. I adjusted my PC accordingly.
Just curious about the changes in the settings for Defense + monitoring. I unticked Windows messages, Monitor and Keyboard. How come these do not need monitoring? Thanks.

It's up to you. Tick 'em all if you want to monitor everything
![]() I just left these out because for my set up didn't think it was necessary.

Thanks for all the info.
CIS works much better for me this time around. Or maybe I am just better at responding to pop-ups with all the firewalls I have been trying. The best things in life are free!

It certainly seems to work better than previous versions, but a significant factor is already being used to responding appropriately to the pop-ups (seem fewer this time around). I think those boxes are all ticked as default when you choose the Proactive Security configuration. |
