I've read through various reviews on this site about all the firewall programs and this is the one I seem to be drawn to. I previously used Comodo CIS and did not get on with it, so don't want that firewall. I could use it well enough, just wasn't happy. And it destroyed my system when I tried to remove it, so never going back there again!
From my experience, Privatefirewall has never given install/uninstall issues. That said, especially with W7 and Sandboxie, do you really have a need for a complex firewall? If it's just outbound notifications you need then the free version of W7 Firewall Control will do that without the need to install additional drivers.

Yes, I've been unsure as to whether I need a different firewall to the standard W7 one since I've been using Sandboxie.

I think my main concern is the outbound connections made by installed programs.

I may give that one a try MC.

I just installed Comodo Firewall/CIS!
The Comodo issue I had about a year ago. It did a real good job on my PC I say. I'm unfamiliar with what Comodo Programs Manager is, but all our PC's at work run Comodo CIS and they run very smoothly with it. My personal experience has put me off it though for my home PC.

Thanks. Had a bit of a problem reinstalling.....had to uninstall sandboxie and then install PFW....and reinstalled sandboxie afterwards. Both are running well now. Also seen the update headsup over at Wilders.

I had no issues whatsoever...odd. (XP Pro SP3 here).

I disabled MBAM Pro but left Sandboxie and WinPatrol Plus as normal during both the uninstall and reinstall.

Glad it's working properly now in any case.

Yes they sure are. Also using the Privacy Support Ticket they are fast to respond. With the above problem I had I sent an email late Tuesday evening (EST) and by the next morning early, I had a reply email from Greg Salvato. How's that for service ?

By the way Blues I am also in XP Pro SP3. Sandboxie wasn't totally at fault as I had some Outpost Windows oem.inf and oem.pne remnant files that I deleted along with temporarily uninstalling Sandboxie and reinstalling. Alls well in Canuck land now though.

Good to hear.

It's always a joy having to deal with the effects of leftover detritus from some apps that don't fully uninstall. Glad you got things working smoothly.
