Hi,
Yesterday I installed PrivateFirewall 7.0.21.1 on my XP SP 3 machine; so far I'm very satisfied (all tests I performed were successful) but I need help for 2 issues I'm experiencing: 1) I'm unable to have ping.exe and tracert.exe working. I think that it's related to blocked ICMP packets; the problem is that I cannot enable them, as the option is blocked in the Add/edit rule page: ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us I tried changing the internet security level / training options etc. but with no success. Both ping and tracert have been added to Process Monitor with "Interprocess Communication" and "Promiscuous or Raw Sockets" enabled; however they are not automatically added to the Applications section (like no connection is estabilished by these programs). 2) Advanced Reports: I noticed that all default reports highlight "Blocked traffic"; how to create a report for ALLOWED traffic? I was unable to find the proper option when creating a new report (i can change ports, directions etc. but didn't see something like "show allowed/blocked"). I need it to check what an allowed application is connecting to. Thanks and regards, Lore Last edited by Lore; 19. Sep 2010 at 11:09 AM. Reason: Added details from Process Monitor |

![]() Attachment 676 PFW does not support logging for allowed traffic. If you really need this level of functionality then I suggest you look at Comodo or use a packet sniffer such as Wireshark.

I really do admire the dedication of the small team behind Privatefirewall.
Greg Salvato always sends me an email when something changes, it's just that this time because of the time differences wolfstr beat me to the post! ![]() There seems to be a growing appreciation of this over at Wilders too.

. Yes, PFW seems to be catching on at Wilder's. One of the many posts about it here http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...=279923&page=5 bellgamin is really keeping everyone updated on PFW there as you do here M.C. Much appreciated.

New Privatefirewall update. Not a major release, but added a few frequently requested features to the app.
RELEASE NOTES - 7.0.22.6, posted 12/09/2010 - added import/export feature for PM and FW rules - added option (in File -> Settings) to Always display alerts for outgoing connections - added option to "Disable startup splash screen" As usual, download link and all details posted here: http://www.privacyware.com/PF_support.html I'm informed that the team are now working on some more significant enhancements so this will be the last standard update now until around February. Ha- ha - got this one in before wolfstr

Believe me, I got the email from Greg at Privacyware and 30 seconds later the post was on here!
