I agree with you about the interface, is old but the program seemed nice,
unfortunately it had some issues with DefenseWall that took me a few hours
of usage to notice. So, for now, I decided to go back to what has kept me
clean for the past(almost) 2 years. Sandboxie. Since December I have team
it up with DW and they have done a nice job together so I ll remain using
both programs.
For what is worth I did like Private FW and Malware Defender.

I've recently decided to use sandboxie too and so far don't have any problems with it. I remember from a previous version that some things were a real pain to sort out but that was maybe two years ago! Things have changed a lot since then This program makes a lot of sense.

Using it with the internet and start/run restrictions is bulletproof, as
nothing gets thru. MC, I am convinced of what I just said because in
the past 2 years no scanner have found anything. The last time SAS
found a cookie was before I started using SBIE.
Now, I am strict about always browsing sandboxed except when doing
Windows updates.

An updated version of Privatefirewall (v7.0.21.1) was released today. There were several modifications implemented in this build, including the addition of a process termination feature, etc. (no solution for multi-user account support yet though).

Thanks MC. Installed it last night and it works well with sandboxie. Also like PCTFW ??? Decisions, decisions. lol. Great to have competition though as we the users benefit.

Works well with SBIE, Avast, FF,IE8. Very pleased with it Bo. The trick is I think you have to let it(PFW) get used to your system for a few days (training) then you can harden up the control to "manual" instead of "auto" and everything still works fine including the avast auto updates. But yes, it works well with sandboxie in firefox which PCTFW beta did not. Not on my system anyway which is XP Pro SP3.
