I posted a comment on the Music Creation software page but figure a forum thread is worth having to to explore this in a little more depth
My needs are to make professional sounding podcasts with gentle / generic background music. I can record my vocal scripts ok and will eventually get LMMS or Temper to do my backgrounds - but my voice isnt quite as I would want it, even when I play with EQ in Audacity I am guessing most voice changer software is designed for sung lyrics but my searches so far for any half decent voice changer software only seem to have bought frustration Any thoughts or suggestions ? |

ok, so I found a handful of demo ware programs that might do this kind of thing, for example [edited] all looked to maybe offer what I thought I needed
But on taking advice from a couple of semi professionals in the field I got the same answer - - practice lots to get your voice how you think you want it - try different microphones to see which one sounds how you want it, starting with a decent large diaphram condenser microphone - do lots of takes until it sounds right - if all else fails find a vocal coach or get someone else to do the narration the old adage of garbage in garbage out still obviously applies in digital audio . . .
