Well you're up and running now so you can tinker around with both programs and see which one suits your needs best. I like AIMP2 for recording because of it's simplicity, it's a very good audio player as well - and I still prefer that version.

I mainly use Audacity for editing music files, trimming bits off beginnings and endings to tidy up recorded stuff, it's a good program but needs a bit of getting used to.
