I saw NOOW player featured on Lifehacker.com
I tried it and it's amazing. I'm not sure that I have words to explain how impressed I was. I'd like to know what you guys think though. www.NOOW.com |

Thanks for the warning MC. I also saw that the download file size was only 1 MB. So that means it will try to install via online installer, the kind that I don't like. I have suggested this to GJ... lets see if he tries it out.

Installs into a folder called Fast Monster Ltd and even after installation makes multiple attempts to connect to the internet. Otherwise the player itself looks great. Just needs a bit of careful handling during setup to avoid unwanted settings and connections.

Yes it does go online for additional-looks to be about 47MB.
It attempts to connect to internet as it is also a bittorrent app and downloads videos from sites like YouTube and I guess has a homepage for video. I had troubles with this and uninstalled. -I could not get it to find a part of my computer where some videos were when trying to open a video from within the program. -I did not want to set it as default, so I tried a right-click on those videos and "Open with". It would not play a video that way, tried on 3 different videos that I know work. -the uninstall seemed to do nothing except remove it from Add/Remove. I did a search after the uninstall and found the exe and many other files still in Program Files/Fast Monster Ltd. These refused to delete. I used UnLocker and found many locks on the folder. Unlocked all and still was unable to delete. Used UnLocker to delete and it could not except on re-boot, where it finally uninstalled. The moment I saw the Babylon toolbar at install, I should have canceled. On the one video I did play, the quality looked very good. Last edited by mr6n8; 13. Nov 2011 at 11:38 AM. |

Thanks for checking it out guys. Seems like this will go in the not recommended category. It looked good from the interface though... its a shame it does not work. Why do people make a good product, but screw it up with other things, like toolbar etc. Pity.

I used Revo to get rid of it which worked for all the important bits. Just left some files in temp/roaming/prefetch which I sorted manually.
