I'm about to put VLC onto my system as my media player of choice. However I am unsure as to whether it is best to use the standard or portable version.
I have looked at the review over at Best Free Media Players and it mentions it can be a pain to get off the system if you ever need to due to the integration with Windows Media Player. Which brings me to the conclusion it would be better to use the portable version. However if the portable version is the better option, it brings me to the question as to why have a non portable version? Anyone got advice as to which would be the best solution? Bearing in mind the only thing bringing me to this conundrum is the note about it being a pain to remove from a system. I don't have any other portable software on my system, only on sticks. |

Well I opted for the standard install. I'm not planning on removing it anytime soon anyhow, so time will only tell if it does cause issues if I ever have the need to remove it. I always prefer installing over portable on a main system.
